As a Network Engineer by trade I have always been interested in powerline technology as running cable is pricey. These are great when your in a pinch. Do they take the place of running a drop? Absolutely not. You do not get the speeds advertised by the vendor. That being said I have tried a few different model powerlines and found these to work the best.
